Millions of dollars in damages occur every year in condominiums and apartment complexes due to flooding from faulty plumbing appliances. In an effort to help our customers decrease liability and insurance costs, we at Clean Sewer Lines have found the following devices to be instrumental in reducing such losses.FloodStop Water Heater Device:
A water heater is one of the single most damaging appliances in the home. Water heaters are continually under pressure so even a small leak can quickly flood and devastate a home or building. Whether at home, at work, or on vacation, these flooding events can go undetected for hours or even days until the water supply is manually shut off.
Water loss from unexpected appliance failures and hose ruptures are detected by FloodStop’s water/leak sensor and the water supply is automatically and immediately terminated. Easily installed between the water heater and its manual shutoff valve, the FloodStop sensor keeps the valve open until a water loss is detected. When the sensor detects a leak, the valve is closed and the alarm will sound, leaving all other household fixtures and appliances operational. The valve then stays closed until the problem is corrected and the system is reset.
The device can be powered by an AC Adaptor/Transformer or Batteries. Output contacts are available, which allow the Controller to connect with an alarm, home automation or auto-dialer systems if desired. This feature can be used to automatically alert/phone the property owner if the FloodStop sensor is activated.
FloodStop For Dishwashers & Toilets
Dishwasher leaks are often small and go unnoticed until a significant amount of damage is done. Such a leak can continue to collect under the dishwasher and then seep between the kitchen flooring and sub-flooring going undetected until the floor is visually buckled or warped. By this time, the cost for repairs is high.
Toilet overflows can also be the cause of significant property damage. The actual overflow usually takes a couple of minutes to begin and often goes unnoticed long after the occupant as left the bathroom.
The FloodStop device designed for dishwashers and toilets automatically shuts off the water supply to the appliance when a small continuous leak, broken component, leaking seal, overflow or a ruptured supply line is detected. The FloodStop valve is connected to the angle stop and supply line, a water/leak sensor is then placed at the base of the appliance or fixture. The valve stays open until a water loss is detected.
At this time, the sensor closes the FloodStop valve and sounds an alarm. The valve then stays closed until the problem is fixed and the system is reset.
The device can be powered by an AC Adaptor/Transformer or Batteries. Output contacts are available, which allow the Controller to connect with an alarm, home automation or auto-dialer systems if desired. This feature can be used to automatically alert/phone the property owner if the FloodStop sensor is activated.
